Dennis

          Continuing along routes 6A or 28 will bring you to Dennis, home to some spectacular beaches, the Cape Playhouse Theater, and the beginning of the Cape Cod Rail Trail (a 25-mile bike path from Dennis to Wellfleet). Along the northern side of Dennis along route 6A, there are numerous antique shops and the homes of former sea captains. Here, you’ll find Chapin Memorial Beach, Corporation Beach, and Mayflower Beach, all of which are great for families. Bass River, on the southern side of Dennis, is great for fishing and bird-watching. The popular West Dennis Beach is the longest beach in town, and is often already packed in the morning.
