Bourne

Most travelers who come the Cape pass through the "gateway" town of Bourne.  Both the Bourne and Sagamore bridges, the two bridges that bring automobile traffic to and from Cape Cod, are located in Bourne.  The Cape Cod Canal is also in Bourne, and the biking and walking trails that parallel both sides of the canal provide scenic recreation.  Similar to Sandwich, Bourne is often passed over by summer visitors, and is relatively quiet compared to the Mid, Lower, and Outer Cape destinations.  In Bourne, there are numerous villages including Pocasset, Sagamore, Bournedale, Bourne, and Buzzards Bay.
